Hosting Moolah !!

Some time back I wrote a post on various hosting companies that are the best in the business. Being a true webmaster.. I put my affiliate links in them and waited for the results. Usually I check my stats once a day but due to a some personal reasons I wasn’t able to check it for the last couple of days. Today I logged in in my various hosting accounts and saw some sale !! The most traffic was received by hostgator, hostican and bluehost. Each one of them pays anywhere from $65 to $100 per lead and looking at the number of people turning to Internet as part time bloggers or even full time, the demand and search for good webhosts in only going to increase. Its a booming industry with lot of competition and fat payouts. There are people who are willing to pay high amounts and all they want in return is the best services and value for there money. So lets give them what they are looking for…

So here is a summary of the top webhosts and their affiliate program in detail. Let me tell you that the competition in this sector is very high and merely mentioning the details in a blog post wont help you make any sales. So we will also discuss some of the ways on how you can promote them in a way to increase your sales at the end of this post.

1. Hostgator:

Hostgator is the most respectable hosting company right now dominating the hosting world. You can make up to $125 per lead. They hold payments till 2 months before releasing it to reduce incidents of fraud and of course payments are via paypal. What I like most about them is the variety of banners that are available to promote the site. Recently I have been promoting a lot of hosts through various mediums and one of the things that bothered me most was that most of them had very few banner options to choose from which is in my opinion a bit unprofessional. Each webmasters’ and bloggers’ requirements vary depending upon their theme, mode of promotion etc.

Many webmasters want to change their host but they dont know how to move their files from one to another server and thats what keeps them compromising with their needs. Hostgator handle the entire process free of cost for you. So thats an additional value to your money.

2. Lunarpages:

Lunarpages.com Web Hosting

I think they are the closet competitor of hostgator in terms of both services and prices. They pay a flat commission of $65 per lead and $5 for 2nd tier leads. Pretty good if you can find a lot of webmasters on various forums and boards to join under you or those who have suitable contacts. Their hosting plans starts from basic to advance ranging from$6.95 to $99. So pretty much there is something for everything. From people running online business to bloggers to beginners. Very safe from hackers point of view.

3. Hostican:

For each lead you get $70 for up to 4 successful sales and after that you will get $90 for each lead !! You will also get paid $5 for lead your referral will send so that is another reason you can join this program. They are getting more and more stronger and their customer base in increasing very fast. Payments are fast and timely.
Driving Traffic:

Now let us discuss some of the ways to promote them. Practically speaking there are hundreds of ways to drive traffic and but what we need is not just any traffic but traffic that is looking for an alternative host. We need targeted traffic and only that will convert into sales.

  • Joining Forums:

The best way to start is to join some forums that are related to webmasters, hosting and domains. Now I have seen that not many people join domain forums for promoting hosts which beats me really. People who are in the domain buying and selling business are also the ones interested in hosting business and specially reseller hosting.

  • Writing eBooks:

Many bloggers and webmasters are making a fortune by writing and promoting ebooks. The moment you visit clickbank or a similar site you see hundreds of ebooks to promote. Why not write your own ebook on hosting and include your aff in them. But instead of selling it it will be more beneficial to give it away for free in various forums. People love it when they are free no matter what it is !!!

  • Blogposts:

If you are blogger than you can write a blogpost dedicated to hosting and must explain the reasons why a prospect should join their affiliate program or why a firm should take their hosting. Dont just write for the purpose of writing but you should be honest in your reviews. It builts trust and long term relationship. People are looking for value for their money.

  • Commenting:

Commenting is one of the best methods of driving traffic to your blog. But remember that your comment should add value to the post and should not look like spam.

  • Emailing your Friend:

Your friends are the best place to start promotion. Ask your friends to join and give feedbacks on the programs. That way if they make a sale then you will also benefit in the long run.

The ways of promotions are numerous so just be creative and keep experimenting. I will soon be writing a post in detail on various methods of online and offline promotion techniques. Keep reading..
