To “www” or not to “www” - that is the question ?

So you are already a proud owner of a blog or thinking to start a new one - at whichever point you are there always comes a question (only for those who think about it) that whether our my blog use “www” or not. if you will look at my blog you will see that it is http://earnersspot.com without “www” Even if you type the url of my blog with “www” in it it will automatically redirect to the original that is without “www” So what difference does it makes you ask me …

Well the real difference is not between what you should select. You can select either of it but should stick to it and force the other to follow it like in my case. It is very important from view point of Backlinks. If you dont follow it then google will think that you have 2 seperate urls and will divide your backlinks accordingly but if you stick to one and enforce the other to redirect then all your backlinks will point to single url giving you more link juice benefit and PR.

It is very simple. First if you are using wordpress platform which probably all the bloggers use then simply go to options tab and change the url to what you want. there will be 2 options - “wordpress address” and “blog address” - change both of them and it should be same !! Then it will ask you to login again and it is set. After that you can use a wordpress plugin to do the trick. It is very important so dont waste time thinking about it or wondering whether i should do it now or I can always do it at some later time.
